Online fraud cases are increasing day by day in Bengaluru city. Especially on social media platforms, advertisements for vashikaran (enchantment), pooja, and mantras exploit people's emotional vulnerabilities and cheat them out of lakhs of rupees. In a recent incident, a young woman was defrauded of ₹2.05 lakh by being promised a solution to her love problem.

Advertisements for vashikaran were being posted from an account named “Krishnamurthy Guruji” on Instagram and other social media platforms. With attractive phrases like “Solution to your troubles, permanent remedy for love problems,” these ads were luring young men and women. A young woman saw one such ad and contacted them.

Incident Details

The young woman called the mobile number given in the ad and spoke to a person who introduced himself as Chandrashekhar Sugath Guruji. After obtaining full details about the boy she loved, he convinced her by saying, “I will perform vashikaran pooja and get you married, but special expenses are required.” The woman believed his words without any suspicion.

Stage by stage, money was transferred online in the name of special pooja, homa, and mantra chanting. After receiving a total of ₹2.05 lakh, when he demanded another ₹4 lakh, the woman grew suspicious. When she asked for a refund, she was allegedly threatened with “Do whatever you want.”

With no solution in sight, the young woman filed a complaint at Adugodi Police Station in Bengaluru. Police have registered a case under charges of online fraud, breach of trust, and intimidation, and have begun an investigation. Efforts are underway to trace the accused based on the phone number, bank account, and social media profiles.

How Online Vashikaran Scams Operate

Such frauds target emotionally vulnerable people. Fake gurus exploit issues related to love, marriage, and family problems to gain trust and extract money gradually. Since the transfers are online, tracing the culprits becomes difficult. Such cases are significantly increasing in Bengaluru.

Police have issued a warning to the public: Do not believe vashikaran, pooja, or mantra advertisements on social media. Follow legal channels for personal problems or contact trusted counselors. Report suspicious advertisements on the platforms.

This incident raises awareness about frauds spreading on social media. Before making emotional decisions, discuss with family members and verify. With cyber frauds increasing across the country, staying vigilant is essential.
