Perne: Dispute with Husband on Phone; Woman Throws Two Toddlers into Well; One Child Dead, Condition of Another Critical!





Uppinangadi: In a heart-wrenching incident reported on Saturday afternoon (September 19) in Perne, under the limits of the Uppinangadi police station, a woman threw two infants into a well following a domestic dispute with her husband over a phone call. The tragic incident resulted in the death of a 3-year-reold child, while another child is battling for life.

According to reports, Sinan (32) and Noorunnisa (28), residents of Perne, had a heated verbal altercation and marital dispute over a phone call on Saturday afternoon. Enraged by the argument, the accused, Noorunnisa, took her own 3.5-year-old child and her husband’s sister's 3-year-old child, and threw them into a well near their house.

Locals who noticed the incident rushed to the spot and immediately pulled the children out of the well. However, by then, the husband's sister's 3-year-old toddler had unfortunately suffocated to death. The other child, who was in critical condition, was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru, where treatment continues in the intensive care unit (ICU).

A case has been registered regarding this heinous act at the Uppinangadi police station under Crime No. 121/2026. The police have taken the accused, Noorunnisa, into custody and are conducting a rigorous interrogation. This tragic incident, where innocent children fell victim to a domestic feud, has cast a pall of deep shock and grief over the entire village.
