A horrific murder on December 23, 2025, in Bengaluru city has shocked the public. Bank Assistant Manager Bhuvaneshwari (39) was shot dead by her husband Balamurugan, a software engineer. Police investigation has revealed that the incident on Magadi Road's busy stretch was the result of months of premeditated planning.

The couple was living separately. Balamurugan accused Bhuvaneshwari of an extramarital affair and refused to agree to divorce. After receiving a divorce notice a week earlier, he executed his murder plan. He fired four bullets, hitting her head and hand, and then surrendered at the police station with the pistol.

Premeditated Conspiracy: Three Trips to Bihar

The illegal pistols used in the murder were purchased from Bihar. Balamurugan travelled to Bihar three times. The first two times he was cheated and lost money. On the third trip, he paid only after seeing the guns and bought two pistols. Shockingly, the investigation revealed that he also underwent 15 days of gun handling training in Bihar.

He gave one pistol to a person from Tamil Nadu along with a ₹1.25 lakh contract to kill her. The contract killer stayed in a Bengaluru lodge and tracked Bhuvaneshwari but did not carry out the murder and returned to Tamil Nadu. Balamurugan himself accompanied the killer, but the act did not happen.

After the contract failed, Balamurugan took matters into his own hands. He attempted the murder twice but backed out due to lack of courage. Finally, on the evening of December 23, as Bhuvaneshwari was returning home from work, he followed her and shot her. Police are intensively searching for the contract killer and the gun suppliers in this case.
